The Great Prosser Balloon Rally
September 25–27, 2026
Experience the wonder of colorful balloons, breathtaking views, and family-friendly fun in Prosser.

A tradition worth waking up for
Before the sun rises over the valley, pilots study the wind, crews prepare for flight, and spectators gather in anticipation of the day ahead.
Since 1991, the Great Prosser Balloon Rally has brought pilots, volunteers, neighbors, and visitors together to celebrate the beauty of flight. Every morning offers something different, but the sense of community and wonder remains the same. Whether balloons fill the sky or weather keeps them grounded, there’s always magic to be found on the field.
Location
All 2026 Great Prosser Balloon Rally events, including sunrise launches and Saturday evening’s Night Glow, take place at the Prosser Airport.
Access the airport from Wine Country Road via Nunn Road and follow event signs and volunteer directions upon arrival.

Sunrise Launches
Arrive before sunrise and watch the magic unfold as pilots and crews prepare for flight and colorful balloons slowly take shape against the morning sky. Meet fellow spectators, enjoy the energy of the field, and be part of one of Prosser’s most cherished traditions.
When conditions are safe, balloons lift off around sunrise and drift wherever the wind leads. Because safety is our top priority, balloon activity may be limited to inflation only or canceled altogether due to weather conditions.
Night Glow
Make plans to join us at the Prosser Airport on Saturday evening for Night Glow. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, enjoy a picnic or dinner from one of our food and beverage vendors, and settle in for a fun-filled evening with family, friends, and the GPBR community. Please note that alcoholic beverages are not permitted on airport grounds.
Enjoy live entertainment by the Bram Brata Steel Drum Band from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., then experience Night Glow, a favorite family tradition, as colorful balloons illuminate the field and dance to music shortly after sunset, weather and wind conditions permitting.
Free Ben Franklin Transit shuttle service will be available for Night Glow from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Planning to ride the shuttle? Visit bft.org for pickup locations and schedules.

Launch Decisions
Safety is our top priority. Every balloon flight begins with a careful evaluation of weather conditions, including wind speeds, visibility, landing options, obstacles, and changing conditions throughout the valley.
Sometimes the safest choice is not to fly. While weather cancellations can be disappointing, they reflect the experience, judgment, and commitment to safety that are at the heart of every successful balloon event.
Balloons launch only when conditions support a safe experience for pilots, volunteers, and spectators. For the latest launch decisions and Rally weekend updates, follow the Great Prosser Balloon Rally Facebook page.
