The magic begins on the ground
Arrive while the field is still blue with predawn light. Pilots meet, crews prepare baskets and burners, and envelopes slowly take shape.
When conditions are safe, balloons launch around sunrise and drift wherever the wind leads. There is no fixed flight path, and a morning may include inflation without flight—or no inflation at all.

Do I need a ticket?
Admission & parking
No ticket is required for general admission. Admission and parking are free.
What time should I arrive for a morning launch?
Launch times
Arrive around 6:15–6:30 a.m. to watch pilots and crews prepare. Balloons are scheduled to launch at sunrise when weather conditions permit.
Will the balloons launch every morning?
Weather
Not necessarily. Wind, visibility, and field conditions determine whether balloons can inflate or fly safely. A scheduled activity is never a guarantee of launch.
What is the Night Glow?
Night Glow
Balloons remain anchored while their burners illuminate the envelopes from within. The 2026 Night Glow is planned for Saturday evening at Art Fiker Stadium, weather permitting. Detailed arrival information is coming soon.
Can I bring my dog?
Pets
The official 2025 guidance kept dogs away from balloons and did not allow pets in Art Fiker Stadium. Burners may distress animals. The 2026 pet policy still needs confirmation; service animals are not pets.
What accessibility accommodations are available?

Can I buy a balloon ride from the rally?

No. The Great Prosser Balloon Rally does not sell balloon rides and does not release pilot contact information.
What should I bring?

Dress in warm layers for the cool predawn field, wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, and bring a camera. A small flashlight can help before sunrise; keep it pointed down around pilots and crews.
Will food or rally merchandise be available?

Merchandise has been sold by rally volunteers in prior years, but 2026 availability is not yet confirmed. Food availability varies by venue and partner event.
Can I photograph balloons?

Yes. Stay behind safety boundaries, never walk on balloon fabric or handle equipment without permission, and avoid flash or bright lights that interfere with crews before sunrise.
Is the rally family-friendly?
Families
Yes. Admission is free and families are welcome. Keep children close around vehicles, ropes, burners, and active crew areas.
